What it includes with LIVE and Recorded Classes:
This is a 5 week series that is LIVE on zoom every Friday from 11:30am – 12:30pm in Hobart and 8:30pm – 9:30pm EST on Thursday nights. But, they will also be recorded so you can access them for 6 weeks.
The first half hour will be gentle yin postures to stretch and strengthen the nervous system. This gentle engagement will prepare it for the latter part of the class which will be a very deep relaxation called yoga nidra. In yoga nidra we enter the theta and delta brain waves associated with deep sleep and/or deep states of meditation.
Like a class you can communicate with the teacher and the other students throughout the chat room. We are here to create a supportive community! Chatting might include inquiry on poses and techniques, encouraging pick-me-ups and support with accountability. And as the teacher, I will be in the chats with you!
This course is for you…
…if you have been experiencing regular stress and you are unsure how to regulate it. When we feel chronic stress our nervous system become fried or frayed. This is a good time to rebalance and train your system to inhabit the parasympathetic side of your system.
…if you are having trouble sleeping. This series is designed to fully express and engage the spine through yin poses, which will allow the body to relax more fully and with deeper ease.
…whether you’ve started yoga or not. This is fine if you are a beginner.
Do not do this course if…
…you are looking for an intense workout. This is a gentle approach to the basics of yoga. While for some this will be quite challenging the aim of this course is to gently connect to our bodies and minds — not to tone strong muscle or for cardio strength (which are great goals and possible outcomes for some folks, but not what this course is about).
…you’re unsure about online learning. If you don’t know if online learning is for you I suggest you try our youtube channel smaller videos before dedicated to this longer and more extensive course.Shortcode
